What Are NiTi Rotary Files?
NiTi rotary files are flexible endodontic instruments made from nickel-titanium (NiTi) alloy and designed for use with a rotary endodontic handpiece during root canal treatment. They are used to progressively shape and prepare the root canal, helping clinicians create a controlled canal shape for subsequent cleaning and obturation.
Compared with traditional stainless-steel instruments, the flexibility of nickel-titanium rotary files allows them to better follow the natural curvature of the root canal during instrumentation. This makes NiTi files widely used for efficient and controlled root canal shaping and preparation, particularly when treating curved or anatomically complex canals.
Heat-Treated NiTi Rotary Files
